Job Description:

Electrical Safety Specialists, LLC is looking for a Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) with a background in power distribution for commercial and industrial facilities. Requirements include a minimum of five years’ experience with overcurrent protection device coordination/analysis, electrical system modeling software, and power distribution design/maintenance. Superb verbal and communication skills are strongly preferred. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineering license are required. Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Job Functions:
  • Perform power system studies such as arc flash risk assessment, short circuit analysis, coordination and device evaluations
  • Familiar with SKM Power Tools and or Easy Power
  • Perform mitigation strategies to reduce hazards
  • Assess and determine the cause and origin of electrical failures and damages
  • Provide oral and written reports and expert testimony when needed
  • Responsible for management and technical oversight of multiple projects
  • Responsible for training and managing CAD technicians
  • Evaluate and review designs
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Responsibilities:
  • Perform Arc Flash Risk Assessments as well as other studies and mitigation involving power distribution
  • Perform forensic assignments within the field of electrical engineering based upon a scope of work and budget prepared by the engineer and agreed upon by the client
  • Manage multiple projects. Work in conjunction with other team members to deliver in a timely manner
  • Use appropriate engineering tools and technology to support findings
  • Follow land use laws and regulations. Comply with electrical codes, regulations, and standards
  • Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships
Qualifications:
  • BS Electrical Engineering required
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • 5 years of experience with electrical engineering
  • 1 year of experience with construction or project management, specification writing, shop drawing review, cost estimating, and surveying and preparing design packages for new and existing electrical systems
  • Strong background in NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with conducting reviews of engineering drawings
  • Experience with using building management systems and Auto CAD and managing major building renovations and recap projects
Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to be highly motivated to continue to develop professional licenses, certifications, and expertise through formal and on-the-job training
  • Ability to coordinate activities with architecture, engineering, construction, space planning efforts, and all customers
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certifications preferred
