Job Responsibilities
 * Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the Electrical Engineering Department, ensuring that project objectives are accomplished within the prescribed schedule, funding, technical, regulatory and quality parameters
 * Lead and manage a team of 10 electrical engineers, designers and drafters for the design and realization of control, data acquisition and electrical systems.
 * Departmental workload planning and resource allocation to support electrical engineering related activities, including product design, R&D, manufacturing and installation support, and customer support
 * Deliver quality engineering service on schedule and within budget
 * Practice and encourage a First-Time-Right approach for preparation of design deliverables, per approved budget/schedule.
 * Design authority for electrical equipment and systems
 * Develop, direct, and maintain departmental design policies, practices, and standards
 * Identify and implement new technologies maintaining the company’s leading edge products,
 * R&D activities including concept, design development and management with regular reporting and the development of the analytical work scope, estimated costs and schedules
 * Review and approve electrical designs and design changes, ensuring that designs are produced in accordance with contractual requirements, design standards, regulatory requirements and company quality policy and procedures
 * Maintain documentation and revision control for electrical designs
 * Department staffing, mentoring, training and evaluation
 * Participate in customer design reviews
 * Provide technical support to the marketing and sales team, including: evaluation of customer requirements, proposal and cost development, technical review and customer presentations
 * Provide manufacturing support; including evaluation of deviation requests and non-conforming product reports
 * Ensure compliance with US export regulations, US law, and the laws and regulation of the local country
 * Domestic and international travel as required
Candidate skills & requirements
 * Highly organized, self-starting, sense of urgency, team oriented
 * 5+ years Management experience in a related industry
 * Highly knowledgeable of Electrical Engineering processes, instrumentation, control, data and power systems
 * Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating a positive attitude and interaction with the internal team and customers
 * Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively work with management, staff, other departments and customers
 * Excellent leadership and problem solving skills with initiative, follow-through and attention to completeness, accuracy and detail
 * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
 * Ability to lead and manage people and multi-discipline projects within the constraints of budget and schedule
 * Ability to research and understand new technologies.
 * Ability to coach and mentor department staff
 * Proficient with Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
