Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for applying advanced engineering principles and leading the research, design, and development of systems, processes, machines, tools, and equipment in order to ensure manufacturing processes are conducted in the most economic, efficient, and effective way possible.


  • Support manufacturing systems for complex and advanced electrical and mechanical operations related to chemical coating processes
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by coordinating development of training and facilitating support on the manufacturing floor
  • Review, develop, plan, and coordinate advanced and complex processes used to manufacture product
  • Streamline the evaluation, research, and systemically improve manufacturing quality control processes, manufacturing methods, process control, tooling needs, and the development of fixturing and go/no-go gauges
  • Calculate workspace requirements and develop strategies to maximize workspace utilization
  • Calculate manufacturing cost, time requirements, resource allocation, and develop recommendations for optimal manufacturing process control for complex and advanced product
  • Identify and develop new cellular manufacturing environments for complex and advanced product, which consider tooling and staffing needs
  • Analyze manufacturing methods, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing scheduling in support of project timelines and planning for complex and advanced product
  • Oversee research, review and approve proposals, and oversee the execution of capital expenditure projects
  • Review and approve new methods to continually improve direct labor efficiency, and productivity savings
  • Support field service troubleshooting, failure analysis, and rework
  • Utilize six sigma methodologies to improve the quality output of processes by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field, or 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience within an ISO controlled and/or government regulated environment
  • Experience in chemical coating processes is preferred
  • A background in project management and leading process improvement activities
  • Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred
  • Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
  • Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and is able to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
  • Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
  • Self-starter that is able to work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines


  • The employee must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills


  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt required/Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
