Summary / Objective:
Performs as Lead/Technical Staff for Program Protection & Cybersecurity, with detailed expert working knowledge of Space Missile Command Center (SMC) compliance documents relevant to program protection and cyber security
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leads and contributes to SMC program protection and cybersecurity activities based on detailed knowledge of processes and policy
  • Provides guidance to conform with DoD, USAF, space acquisition guidance, policy, regulations, and best practices for EN relevant mission and technical disciplines.
  • Has required industry certification (e.g. CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or equivalent to perform cybersecurity and information assurance activities in accordance with USG law and regulations.
  • Leads/manages staff
  • Makes substantive technical contributions
  • Has detailed expert understanding of relevant SMC compliance documents
  • Significant understanding of not only their assigned functional areas, but also SMC process & procedures, DoD Space acquisition, Air Force chain of command, and structure/culture
  • Ability to manage, oversee, guide, apply DoD/USAF/SMC policy, standards, procedures to fulfill engineering and acquisition tasks based on compliance/reference documents in multi-tasking environment
  • Keeps EN leadership informed of status of support
  • Understands complex systems engineering concepts
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations
  • Resolves/escalates issues in timely fashion
  • Understands effective communication of difficult/sensitive information
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes constructive suggestions for change
  • Manages change process, remains on forefront of emerging industry practices
  • Facilitates effective team interaction
  • Reviews team members’ status reports, addresses issues
  • Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities
Travel:
  • Very little – less than 5%
Required Education and / or Experience:
  • At least 15 years demonstrated relevant experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition
  • At least 5 Years demonstrated relevant DoD Space Acquisition Systems Engineering experience
  • Has required industry certification (e.g. CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or equivalent to perform cybersecurity and information assurance activities in accordance with USG law and regulations.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or directly related technical field
Preferred Education and / or Experience:
  • Advanced degree in engineering, management, or directly related field
  • Experience managing personnel and directing multidisciplinary technical teams
