Senior OR Intermediate Structural Project Engineer & Project Manager

My client, one of North America’s leading structural engineering firms, is looking for a self-motivated individual, with superb interpersonal and communication skills to play a key role in Project Management and growing their client base in Vancouver. This position will be assumed by an individual who will be key in the continuing development and expansion of their business. You will lead and direct all aspects of design, from conceptual design and managing staff through detailed site review and construction administration processes as well as interface with clients as part of client management and business development.

Education/Experience:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, with Structural specialty; registered as a P.Eng

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and execute the design & management of new building projects, renovations and retrofit of existing structures
• Responsible for promoting the firm’s services with a focus on attracting new clients and business opportunities as well as retaining existing clients
• Provide technical expertise and guidance leading small to large scale projects
• Delegate and supervise construction review as well as mentor and coordinate with field staff

Requirements:

• Min of 5-10 years experience - strong structural design experience in reinforced concrete and steel structures; strong in lateral analysis and design experience of high-rise buildings
• Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, consultants, clients and site personnel
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and REVIT is an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written/verbal, analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel
• Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage scope, schedule and budget
• Team player with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, priorities and deliverables
• Quick learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally
• Inquisitive, innovative and hard working
