Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager

Our client is a growing and dynamic organization with a requirement, for a self-motivated individual, with superb interpersonal and communication skills to play a key role in growing and expanding their client base in Edmonton. The position of Snr Mechanical Engineer will be assumed by an individual who will be key in the continuing development and expansion of their base building and large project business. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead and direct all aspects of design, from conceptual design, through to detailed site review and commissioning processes. Success will be measured on overall profitability as well as quality of the interaction with their clients and leadership provided.

Education: Mechanical Engineering Degree

Responsibilities:

  • Design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection in commercial and industrial building applications
  • Assuming a leadership role towards ensuring the successful completion of project deliverables
  • Overall design responsibilities for mechanical projects, including the review and stamping of design documents
  • Representing the company with client groups and working diligently to ensure that clients’ expectations are met
  • Ensuring professional quality services in all facets of work
  • Preparing reports, proposals and technical drawings for partners group and clients
  • Mentor technical staff; assigning duties as required
  • Analysis of complex engineering issues and problems

Requirements:

  • Ability to register with APEGBC as a Professional Engineer and to assume the design responsibility of projects in the office.
  • LEED Accreditation
  • 8+ years relevant working experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
  • Have ability to build and nurture strong client relationships;
  • Have experience in the design of both large and small commercial, industrial, institutional and mission critical facilities
  • Experience leading and directing other technical staff members
  • Experience in site investigations and construction review
  • Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented
