TITLE OF POSITION : Western US Business Development Manager/Account Manager

INDUSTRY: OEM Fabrication Machinery Manufacturer

JOB LOCATION: Dallas, TX or remote - Relocation to Dallas preferred.

REPORTS TO : Director of Sales

POSITION SUMMARY – Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Business Development Manager/Account Manager BDM/AM role covers the West part of the US including: [Alaska (AK) Washington (WA) Oregon (OR) Idaho (ID) Montana (MT) Wyoming (WY) Utah (UT) Colorado (CO) California (CA) Nevada (NV) Arizona (AZ) New Mexico (NM) Oklahoma (OK)]The BDM/AM leads the sales efforts and manages a sales team, grows new business and manages existing business. This position also carries responsibility for accurately documenting progress in the company CRM.This position location is a remote home office anywhere in the territory as long as within 1 hour distance from a major airport. PRINCIPLE DUTIES (to include but not limited to):

  • a) Responsible for a particular geographical area and has to make sure that the sales teams working there are meeting the target numbers.
  • b) Consults with the senior management to set-up objectives and goals and a plan of action about how to achieve them.
  • c) Candidate must be in touch with existing clients and also build new relationships with potential new customers and should be able to identify their needs.
  • d) Candidate must be in touch with existing local dealers and also build new relationships with potential new dealers and should be able to identify their needs.
  • e) Candidate has to work closely with other departments, especially marketing and accounts, to plan out an effective strategy that when implemented, will boost sales.
  • f) Candidate has to ensure that all work takes place without exceeding the expenses budget.
  • g) Candidate has to submit regular CRM reports and document sales meetings with accuracy and strategic details as well as reporting on the progress of the sales team and is also responsible for their appraisal.

Skills : A Sales Area Manager needs to have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be persuasive and well-mannered.

Education and Qualifications : Candidate has to have at least 5-10 years of demonstrated sales experience in machine tools/capital equipment (better if fabricating industry) - bachelor’s degree in business management with specialization in sales and marketing or in Mechanical Engineering would be a preferable option.

Experience: Key elements in order of importance for the position would be:1) Demonstrated experience selling capital equipment (if equipment is related to the fabrication process, it would be a plus; if equipment sold is on avg. > $500K, it would be a plus).2) Experience dealing with dealers.3) Experience dealing with a foreign entity (parent or Sister Company). 4)Travel. Up to 75% travel required to perform this role.
