TITLE OF POSITION:   Engineering Lead
 
DEPARTMENT:           Research & Development
 
REPORTS TO:              Chief Engineer
 
 

POSITION SUMMARY – Program/Project management to encompass overseeing design and sustaining engineering functions, supervise and manage program personnel; oversee programs to include design and production support during initial release into Operations; program administrative functions.
 
This position will provide program management leadership for all engineering functions of any program team assigned by the Chief Engineer and provide the administrative requirements needed to keep the Chief Engineer informed as to the status of ongoing programs, projects, and jobs under their supervision.
 
PRINCIPLE DUTIES (to include but not limited to):
 
  1. Administrative functions to include assisting the Chief Engineer in scheduling and budgeting, reporting to management, controlling project costs, and supervision of program personnel assigned to any program the Chief Engineer has placed under his responsibility.
  2. Assists the Chief Engineer in identifying and hiring personnel as required to meet near and long term program needs.
  3. Identifies and maintains critical skill disciplines of personnel assigned under programs of responsibility.
  4. Provides technical management assistance and direction in the support of programs.
  5. Provides supervision and responsibility for all projects assigned by the Chief Engineer.
  6. Takes action needed to move programs assigned from concept to completion.
  7. Moves conceptual design into production unit status.
  8. Provides leadership and direction for all program personnel assigned to programs of responsibility.
 
QUALIFICATIONS

  4. Interpersonal skills, including motivation and training of assigned program team members.
 
EXPERIENCE
 
  1. Minimum BSEE from an ABET accredited institution.
  2. Experience in Commercial, Military, and/or Maritime Environment
  3. Must have work related experience in Power Conversion; power supplies, hardware interfaces, drive controls.
  4. At least ten years program management responsibility for multi-disciplined engineering team.
  5. Certified Program Management professional preferred.
  6. Proven organizational skills, including scheduling, planning, and coordinating program details.
  7. Strategic planning skills that insure assigned programs stay on task and on time.
  8. Interpersonal skills, including motivation and training of assigned program team members.
