Mount Rainier National Park is currently seeking a full time, permanent GS-12 Engineer to join a fast-faced team responsible for projects designed to prolong the life of the park's substantial built infrastructure, which includes roads, 300 miles of built trails, tunnels, bridges, buildings (including historic buildings that are listed on the National Register and are part of a National Historic Landmark District), as well as utility systems (water and wastewater treatment plants, collection, distribution systems, solar power generation systems, and high voltage electrical systems) spread across 250,000 acres within the park.

The park is visited by over 1.5 million people annually, and the area can experience extreme weather conditions, so the work is important and construction can be within a short season in certain locations on the mountain (such as at Camp Muir, which sits at over 10,000 feet in elevation). As a member of this team, you will work with project managers, resource specialists, the park historical architect and landscape architect, as well as compliance team to develop and implement projects that serve our assets, the visiting public, and preserve visitor experiences in the park for another hundred years.
