XO-Nano is a startup in the Orem, Utah area that is based on patented Smartfoam technology. Smartfoam is a new kind of sensor that is created by adding conductive particles into standard foams. The Smartfoam can sense impacts or pressure through an electrical response generated by the foam structure. When placed in a football helmet it can determine the magnitude of impact, it can measure the forces your foot exerts on the ground if placed in your shoe, or it can sense pressure points on your body as you lie in a bed. We are just starting to touch the surface of what this foam is capable of and are looking for the right people to help us take this technology to its potential.
