Mid-State Consultants is currently seeking a Telecommunications OSP Engineer to join our team in Alaska.  We are looking for someone who possesses a thorough knowledge of both copper and fiber cable designs, RUS codes and is proficient in AutoCAD.  We specialize in providing comprehensive, “full service”, communication systems engineering and are proud of our heritage in the industry, with more than five decades of experience in the communications field.  his position is a long-term position with benefits and a vehicle!

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Copper and fiber facilities
• Thorough knowledge of RUS Codes
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Capable of designing the features of outside plant to support special projects
• Self-motivator
• Able to follow directions and to provide good feedback and documentation
• Thorough knowledge of copper cable design, rearrangement and transmission requirements
• Ability to decipher road plans and profiles
• Ability to field all projects assigned and produce legible and detailed field notes
• Proficient in EXCEL and Word
• Willing to travel
• Experience in various outside plant engineering concepts and mechanized programs
• Experience in design of aerial, buried, underground facilities, loop electronic and fiber optics
• Plant extensions
• Must have knowledge of OSP construction and cable splicing principles

REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing to relocate to Alaska and travel within the state
• Copper and fiber cable design experience is required
• AutoCAD and telephony drafting experience experience
• Experience with Aerial Construction
• RUS Codes knowledge
• Road Move experience
• Underground Facilities experience
