The Role
Reporting to Clean Wave’s Director of Electrical Engineering, the Senior Electronics Engineer will help lead our vision in the development of advanced electric drive systems. This role will require strong analytical and problem solving skills with primary responsibilities that will include investigation, development and fostering of power electronic devices, topologies and controls that can improve and enhance our product output. She/he will participate in the collaboration of next generation product development and innovation.
As an early member of our entrepreneurial team, we are looking for a collaborative, hands-on individual who is a team player with strong management and communications skills, and is highly organized and detail-oriented.
 
Responsibilities

• Use of solid engineering skills for problem solving in a fast paced environment
• Participate in design of analog, distributed power supplies and digital electronics as used in embedded electronics hardware for the control of electric machines
• Fully conversant with electronic aided design for electronic circuitry and magnetics
• PCB design, stress analysis, failure mode analysis, safety analysis and thermal design.
• Meet design to cost and test targets
• Develop product design requirements then track the resultant design through reviews, prototyping, verification and test readiness to production release
• Trouble shoot designs with standard laboratory test equipment such as meters and oscilloscopes.
• Support production and fielded product for current and new products
• Prepare documentation for customers, products, reviews, reports, test plans, manufacturing procedures etc in a timely manner
• Significant contributions to product design both independently and as part of a team
• Contributes to Clean Wave Technologies intellectual property portfolio, submitting records of invention and patent disclosures
• Lead designing products to international standards for international markets
• Experience with lab integration

 
Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required with at least five years in a high-technology manufacturing environment
• A team player as well as an individual contributor
• Strong analytic problem solving skills
• Experience with various power levels and frequency ranges, dc/dc and ac/dc power conversion designs (Topologies, components, control, packaging, etc.) required
• Understanding of electromagnetic design desired
• Understanding of rotating electric machines desired
• Ability to travel occasionally as required
• A working knowledge of MATLAB, C, C++, C# and HDL is a plus
