Summit Engineering, Inc. is the leading provider of consulting engineering services for winery projects throughout California. He have 41 employees, and have been in business for  38 years.  We are currently looking for a qualified Civil Project Engineer who has strong technical skills with a background in site development.  The Civil Project Engineering position is responsible for complex and unique assignments, working on project teams in which education, training, and experience are used to solve problems and engineer designs.  The Civil Project Engineer works to accomplish a variety of tasks associated with the project. He/she is responsible for preparing all aspects of a construction document package and should be capable of independently making design decisions.
 
As a Project Engineer, you will work with dynamic design teams including landscape architects, land use planners, attorneys, owners, winemakers, and facility managers.  You will prepare engineering analysis, design, and calculations.  You will also prepare or assist with the preparation of storm water pollution prevention plans, proposals and fee estimates on projects. You will work on or lead multi-disciplined teams with engineers from our structural, electrical and water/wastewater divisions.
 
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is critical.  Areas of design work include:  sustainable site design, stormwater mitigation measures, grading, utility layout, pavement design, roadway geometry as well as hydraulic, hydrologic and earthwork calculations.

The Requirements/ Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years engineering experience showing progressively increasing responsibility.
• California P.E. is desired, or in process of obtaining.
• California E.I.T. / F.E. certification.
• Qualified SWPPP Developer/Practitioner certification desired.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The candidate should be familiar with the capabilities and operations of Civil 3D for building surfaces, performing grading, laying-out utilities, building corridors, and cutting profiles and sections.
• Proficient with the use of computers including spreadsheets, word processing, and engineering software and ability to prepare electronic design calculation documents.
• Ability to work on several projects concurrently. Demonstrates good time management skills.Able to plan ones’ own time and manage the time of others, as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively on a project team.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
