Aerospace engineering jobs involve designing and manufacturing aircraft, spacecraft, satellites and missiles. Aerospace engineers work to develop technologies for use in aviation, defense systems, and spacecraft. These engineers often specialize in areas such as aerodynamic fluid flow, structural design, guidance, navigation, and control, instrumentation and communication, robotics and propulsion and combustion. Aerospace engineering companies will require engineers to perform tasks including:
- Designing, manufacturing and testing aircraft or spacecraft parts, products and systems
- Analyse and evaluate designs to ensure they meet customer requirements, environmental challenges, quality standards, sustainability standards and engineering principles.
- Assess project proposals for technical and financial feasibility
- Inspect damaged or malfunctioning systems, devices and parts to identify the source of problems and determine solutions
