ITandFactory Releases CADISON R22

BAD SODEN, Germany, Dec 22, 2022 – ItandFactory has announced the new release of CADISON R22. CADISON is taking the next steps ahead, towards digitalization with the new release of CADISON R22. Also, to enhance the efficiency of your plant, they have brought new innovations and few changes that will shorten the planning time for large scale plant construction while minimizing the error rates.

“The industry is in the midst of digital transformation. In addition to the aggravating framework conditions such as rising energy costs, stricter laws, the shortage of skilled workers and disrupted supply chains, the digitalization of existing plants and processes is a major challenge for many companies. On the other hand, digitalization offers the opportunity to master the problems of the present. To support our customers even better on this path and in these difficult times – this was our goal during the development of the new release of CADISON,” says Ajit Joshi, managing director of ITandFactory GmbH.

“Scan to CADISON”: Digitalization of existing assets

In many cases, the plants and systems of operators, whether of gas transmission networks or in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, have grown traditionally and are sometimes decades old. This means that the documentation and information of the existing plant is often not available in digital form. To accelerate digitalization in this area, CADISON R22 has a semi-automatic way of recognizing pipelines via laser scanning. This is a lean function that users can implement without much training or prior knowledge.

“We have already successfully implemented a turnkey “Scan-to-CADISON” project for one of our customers. The entire plant was scanned to give a huge point cloud, which was then converted into an intelligent CADISON model by our global team. We are confident that this solution adds value to the implementation of digitalization initiatives, and we will work on further innovations in this direction,” explains Joshi.

Optimized multi-user operation speeds up project execution

A networked approach and smooth collaboration between different disciplines is crucial for the successful completion of large-scale projects. CADISON has always enabled project participants from different departments and organizations to work together seamlessly in plant design. With CADISON R22, the engineering software provider has further expanded these strengths and optimized the solution for simultaneous use by multiple users. With the new version, almost 20 users can work simultaneously on a CADISON project, across disciplines – be it P&ID, 3D or isometric. On this basis, the processing of large projects is considerably accelerated, and costs can be reduced.

Collaboration with external project participants further simplified

For verification phases and approval processes, it is necessary to provide external participants who do not work with CADISON with a clear overview of the current planning status. With the new release, this is possible via 3D PDF based on the CADISON data at the click of a mouse. The recipient can enter his change requests to the 3D model via comment function and mark-ups. This function also facilitates collaboration on large global projects.

Improved change management minimizes risks

During the planning process, various project participants make immense number of changes. CADISON logs this change history. The new version simplifies the evaluation of the data. Changes are now displayed specifically for a certain time of period, assigned to employees. If necessary, they can be undone. “Through close exchange with our customers, we know that planning errors often only come to light on the construction site. This delays the completion of a plant and, in most cases, is associated with additional costs. The new change management functions help to identify sources of error in advance, for example when ordering components. This minimizes the risk of incorrect orders and delays,” explains Stefan Kraus, head of development at ITandFactory.

Focus on user-friendliness

In addition to these and many other new features, the focus was on the user experience. Users can enjoy a clear user interface that facilitates access to important functions such as report generation or task management.
