Using the proprietary programming interfaces of industrial robots requires training and skills. With robots of two or more different brands on the shop floor, it becomes much more difficult to find people qualified to program or even operate the robots.

 In this video, CEO Ben Gibbs of Baltimore-based Ready Robotics talks about the Forge Controller and Forge OS, an operating system that promises to unify control of diverse robots of different makes, models and controller versions, replacing the HMI with a user-friendly tablet interface.
