IPFL Partners with AMFG for CNC, AM Workflows

LONDON, UK, Dec 13, 2023 – AMFG is excited to announce that IPFL is partnering with them to implement their Instant Quote tool and automated workflow software. This will empower IPFL to respond to RFQs faster and more rapidly complete prototypes in their additive manufacturing and CNC machining operations.

Supercharge your success with AMFG

IPFL is going into its 54th year of plastic component production and its 21st year in 3D printing. The company offers extensive CNC machining and fabrication as well as a very versatile range of additive manufacturing including MJF, SLA, Polyjet, FDM, and now the only European manufacturing service with 2µm PµSL.

IPFL has been at the forefront of precision plastic fabrication since its inception in 1969, offering a wide array of in-house manufacturing processes including; rapid prototyping and full-scale manufacturing, using the largest range of plastic materials and cutting-edge 3D printing technologies.

The Problem

Elaborating on their business model before using AMFG, Adam Bloomfield, business development manager at IPFL, stated: “We’ve previously used traditional quoting and production control software and suffered from slow quoting and extensive new customer setup. Rapid prototyping needs to be rapid at every stage of the process. You are far less likely to get a job if you are not providing a costing promptly. IPFL are plastic component manufacturers – that is what we do best – we needed to be spending more time creating solutions for our customers and producing parts than we were on quoting and admin.

The Solution

Instead of time-consuming manual processes, AMFG’s Instant Quote tool leverages sophisticated algorithms in sync with IPFL’s established quoting logic. This efficient method boosts IPFL’s quoting capabilities, ensuring top-notch customer interactions. Seamlessly integrating the email system with the tool, AMFG facilitates the swift conversion of email RFQs into quotes through our streamlined ticket function.

Commenting on their choice of MES software, Adam Bloomfield highlighted: The AMFG system was primed to fit our business in the most complete fashion across our additive and subtractive technologies. Incorporating CNC machining into an auto-quoting system along with our extensive and varied 3D printing services made the system the best fit for our requirements.

IPFL, originally a London-based enterprise renowned for crafting bespoke prototypes, quickly garnered nationwide recognition due to its exceptional craftsmanship and the resounding praise from satisfied clients. In the 1980s, the company underwent a pivotal expansion by integrating industrial machining techniques, leveraging CNC technology to bolster its capacity for producing intricate components in larger quantities. Their early adoption of 3D printing in 2003 solidified their reputation as trailblazers in rapid prototyping, adeptly navigating the shifts in technology across various methods, including resin, powder, and filament-based approaches.

The Result

Following the implementation of AMFG’s Instant Quote tool and workflow automation software, IPFL has reached new heights of efficiency in its CNC and additive manufacturing workflows.

Adam Bloomfield highlighted: “Since implementing the AMFG system, our quote-to-dispatch process is far more streamlined with more visibility on conversions and throughput. We offer seven different 3D printing technologies alongside CNC machining and fabrication – tracking the performance of each technology is far more efficient now which enables us to make better business decisions for the growth of the company and better serve our customers.”

AMFG’s Technical Consultant, Lorenzo Civaia, commented on the successful partnership: “IPFL’s adoption of AMFG showcases how our tool revolutionizes Additive and CNC manufacturing with automated workflows and centralized admin tasks. Their seamless implementation highlights its transformative efficiency, setting a new industry standard for precision and optimization.”

Recognized for their commitment to precision, professionalism, and problem-solving, IPFL prides itself on the ability to manufacture small parts and large-scale components with equal finesse. Trusted across diverse sectors for their confidentiality and expertise, the company’s comprehensive solutions, spanning from design support to material selection, enable clients to leverage cutting-edge technology without significant investments. Their services cater to a wide spectrum of industries, offering customized manufacturing, from prototypes to small batch productions, showcasing unparalleled adaptability.
