TurboCAD Mac 16 includes performance improvements in file handling and rendering.
IMSI Design has released TurboCAD Mac 16, available in four editions: Designer, Deluxe, Pro, and Platinum. Aimed at mechanical designers, architects, makers, and other professionals, the update includes more than 100 new features and improvements, such as AI-based tools, design updates, and workflow refinements. It also expands the Copilot feature introduced last year, with enhancements to modeling, interoperability, and the user interface.

AI and automation enhancements
A new AI-based Part Creator is now available in TurboCAD Mac Copilot Professional, allowing users to generate parametric parts such as gears, screws, nuts, and threaded components with adjustable parameters like diameter, helix angle, and tooth count, helping streamline mechanical design tasks.
Performance improvements
TurboCAD Mac 16 delivers substantial performance gains across file handling and rendering, offering up to 12× faster redraws, 22× faster file loads, 5× faster PDF/DWG imports, and 25× faster printing of large files, making complex projects more manageable and responsive than ever before.
design and modeling updates
Sheet metal tools now include Base, Flange, Hem, Rolled Hem, and Unbend functions that simulate real-world fabrication processes. The Arc Slot Polygon Tool allows creation of polygons using arcs as defining edges, adding flexibility to organic shape creation. An integrated ISO Part Library gives direct access to standardized 3D components, while batch export enables saving individual parts from multi-part files for better organization and sharing.
User interface and customization
The custom tools interface has been redesigned to support larger m×n icon arrays such as 3×20 or 10×10 layouts, improving accessibility and workspace customization. Additionally, a new edit dialog simplifies tool modification, making adjustments more intuitive and efficient.
Interoperability and file support
The SketchUp importer now supports the latest versions of SketchUp, with automatic glass shaders applied to transparent materials for more realistic rendering.
Language support
TurboCAD Mac 16 now supports English, French, and German languages, ensuring broader accessibility for international users and allowing designers from different regions to work comfortably in their preferred language without translation barriers.
