i am a Mechanical engineer from india now settled in Edmonton Canada.Can i work here in Canada
I did my Mechanical engineering from INDIa .My qualification is assessed by IQAS Canada.At present i am supervisor at CN RAIL Edmonton.AM i able to get a job in engineering field depending upon my education and work experience From India.I worked in India up to 2007.My final designation was Sr.Mech Engineering.My speciality is in utility deptt and maintenance.I worked in a chemical plant/Yrn processing plant/Auto parts manufacturing plant and for sure CN RAIL Canada .
If you want to get an engineering position in Alberta you would need to qualify with APPEGA. They will give you a test to determine if you have the qualification to work as an Engineer in Alberta. If you qualify with them, then it is much easier qualify with the other Associates. Each province has there own society. This is the case for anyone from outside Canada wanting to work as an Engineer in Canada.
In Canada in order to have the title of Engineer or Engineer-In-Training you have to be a member of that provinces Professional Society. That is the best place to start.
