One of the many criticisms launched at 3D printing / additive manufacturing is that there are not enough designers who know how to design for this technology. The critics have a point. More designers are trained on developing designs for traditional forms of manufacturing than for additive manufacturing. This is one of the reasons a number of 3D printing / additive manufacturing vendors are introducing contests–to help foster designers who will be responsible for developing and managing items for 3D printing through the production process.
HP‘s contest will focus on the use of color, as well as the function and aesthetic appeal, of 3D printable products.  Details of the contest can be found here.
The deadline for entries is September 5, 2019. The winner will receive an HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation.
