Hardinge Wins 2022 National Metalworking Reshoring Award

Hardinge Inc., a multinational machine tool and accessories builder with global headquarters in Atlanta, GA, received the 2022 National Metalworking Reshoring Award in recognition of its success in bringing manufacturing back to the United States. The 2022 award was presented on Sep 16, 2022, at IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show at McCormick Place in Chicago by Harry Moser, founder and president of the Reshoring Initiative. The award honors companies that have effectively reshored products, parts, or tooling made primarily by metal forming, fabricating, casting, or machining, including additive manufacturing. The award is made possible by the Reshoring Initiative; the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA); AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, which owns and produces IMTS; SME; and the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA).

To receive the award on the IMTS+ Main Stage were Hardinge’s Jeremy Michael, vice president and general manager of turning & milling; Ryan Ervin, chief marketing officer and vice president of sales; David Bassett, senior director continuous improvement, quality, export compliance; and Chandra Urs, president – turning & milling.

Hardinge’s extensive work bringing back manufacturing production to the United States made theirs a winning case.

The 2023 National Metalworking Reshoring Award will be presented at FABTECH in Chicago. OEMs and contract manufacturers are encouraged to apply by June 30, 2023.

About Reshoring Initiative

The Reshoring Initiative, founded in early 2010, helps manufacturers realize that local production, in some cases, reduces their total cost of ownership of purchased parts and tooling. The Initiative also trains suppliers how to sell against lower priced offshore competitors.

About PMA

PMA, an inaugural sponsor of the National Reshoring Award, is the full-service trade association representing the North American metalforming industry—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes. Its nearly 900 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry.
