Gstarsoft acquires CadLine, expands BIM solution portfolio

This acquisition will expand Gstarsoft’s technological capabilities and strengthen its position in the 3D CAD market.

Gstarsoft has acquired CadLine, a Hungary-based developer of building information modeling (BIM) software. With this acquisition, Gstarsoft expands its presence into the BIM market as part of its ongoing international business strategy.

The BIM market is growing due to increased use of digital tools in construction, policy initiatives encouraging digital workflows, and industry efforts to streamline project delivery.

Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, CadLine develops BIM software for architects and interior designers with a focus on usability. The company has more than 30 years of experience in construction-related software and serves customers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

CadLine’s core product, ARCHLine.XP, is positioned as an intuitive and user-friendly BIM design software that combines the precision of CAD with rapid visualization capabilities. It provides a comprehensive workflow from 2D floor plan drafting to 3D modeling, technical documentation generation, and visual design, while also supporting design collaboration.

ARCHLine.XP uses a proprietary BIM modeling engine developed in-house and designed for efficient, stable performance. It supports complex architectural and interior design workflows and includes tools suitable for managing large-scale projects. The software is compatible with various CAD and BIM file formats—including RVT, IFC, SKP, OBJ, FBX, PDF, and DWG/DXF—allowing data exchange across platforms and supporting collaborative workflows.

As one of the earliest Chinese software vendors to expand overseas and provide professional CAD products and services to global customers, Gstarsoft’s products are now available in over 100 countries, with a global CAD/BIM user base more than 1 million. The company has established stable strategic partnerships with distributors in various countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Poland, Thailand, and Germany.

This acquisition will enhance Gstarsoft’s core technological capabilities and market competitiveness in the 3D CAD sector. By integrating advantageous resources, the company can accelerate the development of a comprehensive product ecosystem spanning 2D design, 3D modeling, and BIM collaboration, further strengthening its ability to provide holistic solutions for the AEC industry.
