GrabCAD and Autodesk Team Up

One step closer to dominating the world's design data, GrabCAD and Autodesk announce a partnership.

“What are we going to do tonight, Brain?”

“Same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world!”

GrabCAD is continuing it’s world domination of design data by partnering with Autodesk.  Autodesk Fusion 360 can publish designs directly to GrabCAD.

Now, I’m a little confused. Fusion 360 is a cloud-based design tool. Sites can be created and invitations sent to consumers to view the data with nothing more than a Fusion 360 login ID. I can see the benefit of other software developers building a cloud-based solution by partnering with GrabCAD, saving hours of in-house development. But partnering a cloud-based solution with a cloud-based solution? I think space-time is folding in on itself. I am eagerly awaiting to see how users take advantage of this partnership.

The official announcement is happening via webinar exactly as this post goes live.  Click the link to catch up on the action. If late, let’s hope there is a replay available.
