The LENS additive manufacturing machine from Optomec.

The TCT Show in Birmingham, England, (running from September 30 – October 2 at the NEC) gives you an opportunity to see developments in 3D printing / additive manufacturing from U.S. companies as well as European based companies. One of the companies that will showcase its products is Optomec, a global supplier of 3D printing systems for production applications.

Optomec will demonstrate how its LENS 3D metal printing systems and Aerosol Jet family of printers enable a variety of applications with their technology, including multi material, hybrid manufacturing and repair of metal components, as well as high volume production capability for consumer electronics including sensors and antennas.

Among the highlights of the Optomec exhibition will be: The LENS Print Engine, a modular version of the LENS 3D Printing system for metals that can be integrated with standard metal cutting machine tools for additive manufacturing as part of existing production infrastructures. The LENS Print Engine offers modular components, including powder feeders, deposition heads, tool path generation software, and quality monitoring systems, as well as how these components can be integrated into an existing or new CNC machine tool.

Also on display will be the Aerosol Jet 5X system for printing 3D electronics. The system delivers the precision and flexibility required to produce high resolution 3D printed electronics such as conformal antennas, sensors, and circuits used in consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical applications. Equipped with an Optomec Sprint® Print Module and a 5 axis coordinated motion platform, the Aerosol Jet 5X system suits 3D printed micro-electronics development applications.
