These three new industrial tools help optimize industrial processes and accelerate digital transformation.
GE Digital announced that its new Professional Services offerings are now available for general use. Three solutions are being added to the GE portfolio of industrial tools, including
Quick Start for Industrial Advanced Analytics, Quick Start for Proficy Operations Hub, and Quick Start for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). These solutions are designed to improve the deployment and integration of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies for industrial companies that are looking to accelerate the adoption of digital solutions. Through GE Digital’s intuitive software, industrial companies can now optimize business processes and quickly scale systems from plant to enterprise-wide operations. This makes it easier to manage more assets and data, enabling organizations to immediately adapt to rapid changes in the market and address anomalies in production.
“The market is moving fast, driving our customers to manage more SKUs, shorter production runs, and more line changeovers,” said Richard Kenedi, general manager of GE Digital’s Manufacturing and Digital Plant.
Each solution offers distinct capabilities that aim to automate and improve industrial processes.
Quick Start for Industrial Advanced Analytics is designed to support AI and machine learning engineers to speed up problem detection, minimize variability, and improve equipment and processes to quickly identify factors that are causing production irregularities. The technology uses advanced data analytics to optimize operations beyond simply detecting trends. Using GE Digital’s software, Quick Start for Industrial Advanced Analytics can help businesses develop behavioral models to pinpoint anomalies that can be potential indicators of inefficient use of assets and systems or faulty equipment, resulting in variation. By modeling existing processes, the software can easily use predictive behaviors to improve quality, maintenance and production planning. GE Digital’s Professional Services utilizes Proficy CSense for root cause analysis and early warning monitoring.
Meanwhile, Quick Start for Proficy Operations Hub allows employees to easily visualize and processes in real time through a modernized user interface. The software functions by merging data from various systems across an organization such as production KPIs, environmental health and safety, and maintenance. According to GE Digital, this includes MES and third-party solutions. With the software, users can efficiently monitor, control and provide data entry as well as launch analysis through any mobile device. This will allow industrial companies to easily transition to front end without needing to make major changes to production.
Lastly, Quick Start for OEE provides plant production managers, shift leaders and line operators the ability to efficiently deploy targeted MES solutions for production lines and determine benefits realization in just a few weeks according to OEE KPI standards. The software does this through automatic data collection followed by testing on a single pilot to assess benefits realization. This then becomes the basis for overall production line operations and enterprise visibility. The Quick Start software also monitors losses, conducts root cause analysis, and employs countermeasures in real time.
