GE Digital announces Proficy Operations Analytics, a fast time-to-value predictive operations center.
GE Digital has announced an addition to its Proficy suite of software tools, Proficy Operations Analytics. Joining a collection of cloud-based analytics, Proficy Operations Analytics is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) predictive operations system for applications in industry. GE Digital designed this system to provide engineering and operations teams with improved data analytics to optimize manufacturing performance. Proficy Operations Analytics eliminates the need for data scientists as it is a self-provisioning, ready-to-use system to maximize revenue through improved operations.

“In any factory, people at the forefront —those who perform the key activities —crave high-quality information to use their time effectively and to drive value for the company in their day-to-day activities,” said the Research Manager, IDC Manufacturing Insights – EMEA, Lorenzo Veronesi. “We see a great need for tools and solutions that help democratize the use of data science on the shop floor.”
Enterprise-Scale Solutions with Proficy Operations Analytics
Proficy Operations Analytics integrates over 100 pre-built industrial data agents in a secure-by-design method for speedy analysis. The software automatically connects to PLCs, historians, SCADA, ERP, MES, Lab DBs, and IoT devices and includes automated normalization of distinct properties.
With Proficy Operations Analytics, any industrial company can now collect data in minutes, identify insights and direct actions within hours, and integrate solutions to scale within days for a rapid return on investment (ROI). Enterprises can achieve these gains thanks to pre-built analytics, including Predictive Quality, Predictive Throughput, Predictive Energy Efficiency and many more predictive applications. With no expertise in data science, operators can now use easily visualized datasets to share economic insights with executives in real-time.
Proficy Operations Analytics can use any data already collected by Proficy Historian, Proficy Manufacturing Data Cloud, and Proficy Plant Applications/MES to provide an additional 2-5% increase in efficiency for manufacturing every year.
Automatic Digital Twins Configuration
GE Digital is a co-founder of the Digital Twin Consortium to provide software for enterprise-scale optimization. The foundation of the Digital Twin approach is to use predictive maintenance to reduce risk and improve manufacturing outputs. To optimize operations, Proficy Operations Analytics uses self-provisioning processes to configure Digital Twins automatically.
The Digital Twin approach uses an asset’s data to simulate performance under different scenarios and conditions. By integrating known risks and usage patterns, operations teams can develop mitigating strategies that will translate to economic benefits and improved manufacturing outcomes.

With Proficy Operations Analytics, thirty pre-built predictive tools are automatically assigned to Digital Twins to optimize operations. All this is readily achieved without the need for data science or further development of applications; just a straightforward solution for enterprises of all sizes to improve output and ROI with a ready-to-deploy, cloud-based analytics system.
“GE Digital is uniquely positioned to help industrial companies accelerate AI and ML with a full set of industrial data management and analytics-based solutions that feature a scalable architecture, single pane of glass for visibility, and security and availability on premise and in the cloud,” said the General Manager of GE Digital’s Manufacturing and Digital Plant business, Richard Kenedi. “Proficy Operations Analytics puts industrial data to work to empower workers and lead global decision-making frameworks, putting data in context to drive resilient business outcomes that make people, assets, and processes work together efficiently.”
