GE Additive is moving aggressively into the additive manufacturing space. The company annouced a deal with Stryker (NYSE:SYK) is a medical technologies firm based in Kalamazoo, MI. Many of its products include joint replacement implants, surgical equipment and surgical navigation systems. As reported by my colleagues at Mass + Device, it is now in a deal with GE Additive, the 3D printing arm of GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE), for the equipment to build out its additive design and manufacturing facilities. Stryker recently opened a 3D printing hub in Carrigtohill, Ireland, as part of the additive manufacturing program it began back in 2001.
