features a larger table, more tools, new capabilities, all in same space-saving footprint
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI, Aug 27, 2024 – FANUC America unveils the latest addition to FANUC’s ROBODRILL vertical machining center (VMC) lineup, the new α-D28LiB5ADV Plus Y500. This new VMC offers more advantages to any production machine shop by featuring a larger table, shorter drilling and tapping cycles as well as more tools coupled with faster tool changes. FANUC America will be introducing the new ROBODRILL α-D28LiB5ADV Plus Y500 at the 2024 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago, IL, Sep 9-14 in booth S-338919.
FANUC’s ROBODRILL α-D28LiB5ADV Plus Y500 is designed for peak performance covering a wide range of tasks and excelling at machining large workpieces. This is due to its extended Y-axis stroke (500 mm) and increased table size, all without increasing the ROBODRILL’s footprint. The new ROBODRILL speeds up drilling and tapping operations via a rapid Z-axis acceleration (2.2 G) and traverse rate (60m/min). Plus, with an expanded tool capacity of 28 tools and lightning-fast changes, the new ROBODRILL α-D28LiB5ADV Plus Y500 will boost productivity for any machining application.
The enhanced performance of the new ROBODRILL α-D28LiB5ADV Plus Y500 is designed to help machine shops drive down cycle times with faster speeds and improved productivity. Additionally, with easy robotic integration tools with FANUC robots, automating machine tending is a breeze with FANUC ROBODRILL Plus.
This newest ROBODRILL Plus continues to build on ROBODRILL’s over 50-year reputation as the most reliable VMC with industry-leading uptime. The ROBODRILL Plus lineup offers precision and versality with three model sizes available each in two choices: Standard or Advanced. With nearly a half million operating around the world, FANUC ROBODRILLs are popular for not only their performance, but 24/7 local support available to keep all machine shops running all the time.
