New products from Advantest, AMETEK, B&K Precision, Rohde & Schwarz and Tektronix.
Advantest SoC Software Test Platform
Advantest has extended the capabilities of its V93000 SmarTest software with SmartShell, a software bridge allowing direct communication between any of its V93000 scalable platform testers and electronic design automation (EDA) environments such as Tessent SiliconInsight software from Mentor. EDA tools can now connect to a tester remotely through an online network, send test patterns for execution, modify them, and retrieve results and failure information directly instead of going through multiple format conversions.

AMETEK Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy Detector
AMETEK added a 160mm2 detector to its Elite T Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) System for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM).The Elite T EDS System uses silicon drift detectors, now with 70mm2 and 160mm2 options, and contains integrated electronics.
The device also includes windowless detectors that do not require the typical protective window in front of the module. This design improves the light element sensitivity of the detector, improving the mapping speed and light element detection in low concentrations.

B&K Portable Data Recorder
B&K Precision developed the DAS220-BAT portable data recorder. The recorder features 10 integrated universal analog channels to measure and record voltage, temperature, current, resistance, frequency and pulse. Measurement data can be saved to the 32GB internal solid state drive or to an external device such as a USB memory stick. The unit also includes two USB Host ports and a LAN interface that allow users to remotely control and configure the recorder with the free DASLab software.

R&S 5G NR Performance Verification
Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) conducted the first field tests of network performance and quality from the end-user perspective on a live 5G NR network using commercially available 5G NR devices such as the Samsung S10 5G. The ultimate test of a complete 5G NR network’s successful operation is to verify that the required quality of experience (QoE) is delivered to subscribers by using real 5G devices in live networks.

Tektronix Oscilloscopes
Tektronix has introduced its 3 Series Mixed Domain Oscilloscope (MDO) and 4 Series Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO). The 3 and 4 Series’ interface design with touchscreens and front panels keep key controls close at hand so that instead of digging through multiple menus to find settings, users can simply double-tap the appropriate readout or measurement on the display.
