ESTECO Celebrates 25th Anniversary

TRIESTE, Italy, Feb 23, 2024 – This year marks the 25th anniversary of ESTECO. With its roots in scientific research and a solid growth behind it, the company is known in the market for its pioneering engineering software solutions. In this quarter of a century, modeFRONTIER and VOLTA empowered leading organizations worldwide to redefine their design processes, spanning across industries.

In 1999, ESTECO was founded by three engineers as a spin-off of the University of Trieste (Italy), building on the knowledge they acquired during the European-funded project ‘Frontier’. Out of this project modeFRONTIER, a market leading software solution for multidisciplinary and multiobjective optimization in product design, was born.

“25 years ago numerical optimization software was taking its first steps – said Carlo Poloni, president of ESTECO – so we were. modeFRONTIER was born as a trailblazing solution that used what we now call Artificial Intelligence to let engineers design better products in less time. That was unprecedented, and our vision and deep knowledge of our customers’ needs paved our way to success.”

Over the years, ESTECO expanded its technology offer by releasing VOLTA in 2013. On top of state-of-the-art optimization capabilities, it offers a comprehensive collaborative environment for integrated management of simulation processes and data. “In a quarter of a century, our technology evolved – explains Poloni – but our mission didn’t change. We work everyday to empower the most innovative organizations with future-proof digital engineering solutions.”

President Carlo Poloni, CTO Luka Onesti and Scientific Advisor Enrico Nobile have taken the company from a university start-up to a global leader in engineering technology. Since 1999, ESTECO has grown steadily over the years and currently counts over 150 employees worldwide, with headquarters in Italy and offices in the United States, India, and Germany.

While working on the standardization and automation of engineering simulation workflows, ESTECO has also come to explore new markets and audiences. In 2019 they released Cardanit, a Saas business process editor supporting BPMN standard. “It took countless ideas, encounters and collaborations to get us to where we’re today. – Poloni said – Every customer, partner or employee has contributed to define our journey so far. We’re grateful to everyone who has played a part in our history and contributed to our growth.”

The company announces celebrations throughout 2024, sharing stories, videos, blogs and events. The ESTECO International Users’ Meeting is scheduled in Trieste, Italy from June 4 to 6. It will be the perfect opportunity to celebrate this milestone with customers and partners from around the world. Other local initiatives will follow, in collaboration with the University of Trieste and the Science Center Immaginario Scientifico in Trieste (Italy).
