EOS offers a solution to additive manufacturing user concerns of inadequate training and downtime

According to information EOS North America gathered from its customers,
–inadequate training accounts for nearly 50% of the average AM system’s untapped potential.
–70% of an AM machine’s downtime is due to lack of necessary, preventative maintenance.

To address these issues and increase customer satisfaction, EOS announced the launch of its Life Cycle Solutions group, which is designed to provide complete customer support including: product installation, material selection, machine service, process improvements, and upgrades.

The Life Cycle Solutions group works with organizations to proactively address downtime, make informed decisions about materials that they select and maximize the return on their AM investment. EOS North America recruited machine tool and service industry expert Darin Chartier to lead this new group as Director of Life Cycle Solutions.

“Realizing the massive potential of AM is challenging and customers often look to us for advice,” said Glynn Fletcher, President, EOS North America. “What we can do for customers extends beyond the point of sale and we needed someone to champion that effort. Darin’s entire career has been focused on ensuring customer satisfaction in the machine tool industry and that makes him a perfect fit to lead our new Life Cycle Solutions group.”

Chartier brings a unique understanding to EOS North America, having most recently served as the Director of Customer Services at GF Machining Solutions. Prior to that, he was Director of Machine Sales at Midwest Industrial Tools where he led the development of customer retention strategies.

“I am very excited to join the EOS team to lead the Life Cycle Solutions group and help customers realize AM’s promise through delivering know-how and ongoing support that EOS is known for,” said Darin Chartier, Director of Life Cycle Solutions, EOS North America. “Training, ongoing process improvements, and an overall integrated approach ensures our customer’s get the most out of EOS machines and materials.”
