The real-time rendering platform has a fresh look and new features.

Real-time rendering provider Enscape recently released Version 3.0, which comes with new branding and a reimagined interface to help streamline the design process.
Since its first release in 2015, Enscape has welcomed user feedback, and the latest version incorporates many users’ input, especially as it relates to ease of use and maximizing workflow. The new interface features an enhanced visual workflow management setting, functions relocated to the renderer toolbar, a new information display structure while in the renderer, video time line view, and changes to video keyframes.

Along with including a new interface, Enscape 3.0 has new features for rendering. According to the company, “Workflows have been streamlined, and it is faster and more convenient to access commands and settings. Users can now leverage Enscape’s tools directly from the full-screen mode, allowing them to spend more time exploring design questions and less time switching between menus.”
In the new version, users benefit from 333 new assets. While some are iconic or region-specific, such as a New York City taxicab or London phone box, the assets have been optimized with up to 40 times better performance. The ability to use local assets, such as trees or shrubs that are common in a region, enhances the details of design. The new assets bring the asset total to 2,470, making it easy to drop in whatever is needed to add the right amount of realism, from people to lighting to furniture to importing a personalized asset.
Another highlight of Enscape 3.0 is the software’s video editor enhancements. Designed for a streamlined workflow and to make video creation easy, it has a time line and is accessible without having to navigate submenus. Hotkeys can be used to instantly get to the editor or add keyframes. The new time line puts more elements under a user’s control, including time of date, field of view and the camera path.
Other highlights include:
- Upload Management: A cloud-based upload manager with a link generator that provides greater accessibility to files and makes it easier to share, move or delete them.
- Batch Rendering for Vectorworks: Provides the ability to batch render a set of images for better time efficiency.
- Connected Setting Presets: Instead of visual presets being available only during batch rendering, visual settings are in real time when switching views.
- Context-sensitive Help: This function instantly aids users with the task at hand, so there’s no need to search the entire help system.
“Enscape 3.0 represents not only an evolution of our product but also our company, which you will see reflected in our new look and a renewed commitment to our users,” said Enscape’s Daniel Monaghan. “The new brand reflects Enscape’s transition from a successful startup to the leading real-time rendering technology that supports today’s building design and construction process. With Enscape 3.0 our focus is on improving the user experience and making real-rendering and VR easier and more accessible.”
Enscape provides a tutorial and offers a 14-day free trial.
