Supports resin processes such as injection molding, casting, and 3D printing, and composite techniques including VARTM, pultrusion, and tooling.
Element Labs, a division of NZT Group, Inc., has introduced NEOZANT, a new polymer developed for use in industries including aerospace, mobility, chemical processing, infrastructure, dunnage, medical equipment, and energy. The material combines performance and versatility with considerations for sustainability, and is intended to support a range of industrial applications.
Exothermic Molding, Inc. has used NEOZANT’s fire-retardant material in producing tops and fronts for JBT’s new autonomous vehicles. The Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process allows for accurate encapsulation of metal inserts, resulting in structurally sound components with consistent thermal properties. Exothermic also provides sub-assembly services, delivering NEOZANT parts to JBT in assembled form.
A new component for military applications has been developed using material science and advanced manufacturing methods. Engineers reverse-engineered broken fiberglass parts from aircraft maintenance and created a replacement using pigmented NEOZANT resin, integrated with 3D-printed parts and bonded elastomeric materials. The component passed a 20-foot drop test, met corrosion resistance standards, and does not require painting. Exothermic’s design, which bonds 3D-printed plugs, nitrile feet, and walking treads to pigmented NEOZANT parts, offers a ready-to-install solution aimed at improving reliability and reducing finishing steps.
NEOZANT is a polymer material that integrates characteristics of thermoplastics, thermosets, and fluoropolymers. It is designed to perform under high temperatures, withstand impact, and resist corrosion. These properties make it suitable for applications such as aerospace fuel tanks, pipelines, and infrastructure components. It is compatible with various manufacturing methods, including injection molding, casting, 3D printing, press and rotational molding, spin casting, filament winding, VARTM, fiber placement, pultrusion, and tooling.
NEOZANT is being recognized as an engineered polymer known for its toughness, specific physical properties, and compatibility with standard thermoset manufacturing methods. It is used in various applications, including hydrogen transport and storage, reinforced concrete, and efforts to lower carbon emissions in infrastructure projects.
Element Labs, a division of NZT Group, Inc., focuses on developing material science solutions with an emphasis on sustainability. The NEOZANT product line reflects this approach by combining performance with environmental considerations.
