New products from Aerotech, E+E Elektronik, Microchip, Renesas Electronics and Synopsys.
Aerotech Galvanometer Scanner
Aerotech has launched its AGV-SPO single pivot-point galvanometer scanner, enabling field of view and spot distortion for critical laser micromachining applications. An optical design effectively controls the beam entrance pupil to be coincident for the X and Y scanner motion. This design provides a field of view for a given focal length and reduces spot distortion over the entire working area.

E+E Elektronik CO2 Sensor
E+E Elektronik has introduced its EE8915 CO2 sensor, which meets railway standards for CO2 measurement in railway vehicles, such as in the passenger compartment or driver’s cab. Onboard sensors ensure CO2 measurement accuracy independent of temperature, altitude or weather conditions. The sensor is also suitable for process and climate control.
The sensor’s NDIR dual wavelength infrared measuring principle is protected from contamination and automatically compensates for ageing effects. The multi-point CO2 and temperature factory adjustment ensures measuring accuracy over a temperature range of -40 °C to 60 °C.

Microchip PCIe 3.1 Ethernet Bridges
Microchip has unveiled its LAN7430 Ethernet Bridge, which provides integrated power, clocks and an Ethernet physical (PHY) interface, while the LAN7431 provides Reduced Gigabit Media-Independent Interface (RGMII) for alternative PHYs and switches. The LPSS L1.1 (snooze) and L1.2 (off) allows designers to reduce power consumption and improve battery life by snoozing or turning off the high-speed circuits in the PHY when not in use.

RenesasImplements KNX Protocol over G3-PLC for Building Automation
Renesas Electronics has announced that it has implementedthe KNX protocol on its G3-PLC powerline communication (PLC) system.Combining data line and power line into one cable system and using improved modulation techniques, PLC is a cost-efficient way to expand connectivity through a building over long distances and across walls.
Primarily developed for energy metering applications, the G3-PLC protocol is freely usable as an open standard and continuously maintained by the G3-PLC Alliance. Marc Delandre, chairman of the G3-PLC Alliance, commented: “Even though G3-PLC was first adopted for metering applications, its field of usage is not restricted and the Renesas solution opens new horizons for G3-PLC technology adoption in smart building applications.”

Synopsys Medical Device Design
Synopsys has released its SimplewareScanIP Medical platform after having obtained a CE marking as a medical device. The CE marking provides medical device design and patient-specific analysis companies in the European Economic Area (EEA) with a tool for creating models from 3D imaging data. SimplewareScanIP Medical is also FDA 510(k) cleared in the United States, and is developed using an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system.
