Last week Twinhead International Corporation announced upgrades to its Durabook R11L 11-inch fully rugged tablet. The revamped device now features the 12th-Gen Intel Premium Gold processor 8505 and architectural modifications for a better user experience.

To support productivity in challenging environments, the R11L features an 11.6-inch FHD (1920×1080) 10-point capacitive multi-touch display with 1,000 nits brightness for viewing in direct sunlight. It also has four touch modes: glove, stylus, water and finger for indoor/outdoor and variable weather conditions. Additionally, it offers a slim stylus for versatility and greater precision than fingertips.

“Durabook devices are designed to meet the demanding needs of workers who rely on rugged technology to streamline workflows and improve productivity in even the harshest environments,” said Twinhead CEO Fred Kao in a company press release. “With its upgrade to Intel’s 12th Gen CPU, this latest R11L model is 300 percent faster than its predecessor, offering more computing power for budget-minded professionals.”

The processor update is coupled with a more affordable starting price of $1,300 and an array of new features geared for professionals. The fully rugged design is suitable for sectors like industrial, warehousing, utilities, logistics, and transportation where there might be harsh and unpredictable conditions.

The Durabook R11L offers expansion options including a barcode reader, LAN port, RS-232 serial port, RFID reader, smart card, and magnet stripe reader. The R11L is equipped with Thunderbolt 4 and wireless capability through Intel’s Wi-Fi 6E AX211. The tablet also features an additional Micro HDMI port for video output and can connect to multiple devices via Bluetooth. The R11L measures 20mm thick and weighs 1.2kg.
