Syracuse, NY — The US office of Materialise hails DPT as a new customer for its revolutionary and highly intelligent e-Stage software. e-Stage automates the work preparation process when generating support structures, eliminating all manual editing, and also helps save on resin, finishing time and build time.
Since 1993, DPT has been a leading RP service provider of product development, rapid prototyping and manufacturing solutions. Their 12,500 sq.ft. facility in Syracuse, New York contains climate-controlled rooms, dedicated battery backups and regularly scheduled calibration inspections to support nine, large-format Stereolithography (SLA) machines. The company’s RP capabilities include 3D printing, Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), urethane casting, injection molding, metal casting and sheet metal services. DPT has an experienced staff of RP project engineers to manage projects and build parts, and a full staff of model makers to hand finish parts. They strive to be the fastest and easiest source for the best RP parts.
DPT has now purchased Materialise’s e-Stage software to generate support structures to save time, money and materials. “The software is saving a lot of time previously spent creating and editing supports”, said Dan Sammons, Owner & VP Operations. “In many cases it produces stereolithography support structures superior to what we could have created manually.”
The e-Stage software not only automates prep work, reducing it to ‘a push on the button’ and eliminating the need for processing the support structures manually, it also optimizes the manufacturing process. Its excellent support structures guarantee shorter production times and lower resin consumption.
e-Stage offers the added benefit of reduced time spent on the overall project. The supported model can be removed more efficiently from the platform and the support structures can be removed more quickly and easily from the model. Both save a lot of time. The unique new connection between the supports and the component substantially cuts the time required for model post-processing.
