Designer Edge Image of the Day – 6-3-13 – Direct Imaging of Covalent Bonds

For the first time in history, researchers at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have snapped a series of photos of a molecule rearranging its chemical bonds. In the images a oligo-(phenylene-1,2-ethynylenes) undergoes a series of cyclization processes.
