Last week the Solar Impulse aircraft broke its own record for longest solar-powered flight when it completed a 958 mile jaunt from Pheonix, Arizona to Dallas, Texas. With a wingspan of 63.4 m (208ft) the 1,600 kg aircraft can travel for an incredible 36 hours reaching a cruise speed of 70km/h (43mph).
