Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania’s Kod*Lab have created a robot that leaps. Named X-RHex-Light, the six-legged robot is the test-bed for the lab’s “Toward a Vocabulary of Legged Leaping”. The goal of the research project is to give robots greater ability to navigate terrain that may contain gaps and sheer cliffs.
