August 15th deadline set for survey intended to shape diversity, equity and inclusion practices within engineering organizations.
Engineering.com and Design World are calling for engineering professionals from all backgrounds to participate in their annual Engineering Diversity & Inclusion survey. The brief survey gathers opinions and experiences about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the engineering sector, plus data on DEI practices in engineering workplaces.
Any engineer can complete the survey, which is available here. The response deadline is August 15.
The survey results will be published in October 2024 as part of Engineering Diversity & Inclusion, a special editorial package published by DesignWorld and Engineering.com. The package will profile successful engineering from underrepresented communities and offer insights that can help individuals and employers adopt DEI best practices.
The engineering profession’s recent focus on DEI reflects a growing societal demand for more inclusive and equitable workplaces. As communication and collaboration technologies increasingly gather workers of diverse backgrounds under one virtual roof, attention to DEI practices can foster an environment where all members contribute to their highest potential.
Design World and Engineering.com intend for the final report to reflect the full diversity of thought and practice within the profession, encouraging all engineers to participate regardless of their opinion of DEI practices.
All respondents will remain anonymous when taking the survey to allow for candid responses.
