Creating Darth Vader on a 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center

Morris Madness 2016 cutting demo shows off Mastercam, Iscar and Okuma capabilities.

Engineers can realize some pretty cool projects with the right combination of software, tooling and machining.

As part of Morris Madness 2016, engineers from Morris Midwest used TCPC and Super-NURBS to create a bust of the Dark Lord of the Sith.

The part was designed and programmed using Mastercam. Iscar provided the tooling and OKUMA supplied a MU-5000V 5-axis vertical machining center.
