Creaform, a leader in portable 3D measurement technologies, unveiled its new line-up of MetraSCAN 3D optical CMM scanners –accurate 3D scanners for demanding quality control and reverse engineering applications.
Creaform claims that these 3D scanners are the most accurate on the market, whether in lab or on the shop floor. They are easy to master and use, and they take only a few minutes to set up. Featuring Creaform’s TRUaccuracy technology, the scanners ensure highly accurate dimensional surface measurements, regardless of the measurement environment (instability, vibrations, thermal variations, and so on) or operator skills.
The combination of a MetraSCAN 3D CMM scanner and a HandyPROBE arm-free CMM makes a complete measurement system for points and surfaces, and enables geometrical and freeform inspection on the same part, with the same system.
The new handheld scanners are now offered in two versions:
• The MetraSCAN 70 offers optimal resolution. It suits projects where geometrical feature definition is key, such as sheet metal and tooling inspection.
• The MetraSCAN 210 offers fast measurement speed. Its increased stand-off and depth of field enhance scanning flexibility. It suits large surface metrology and large-scale reverse engineering requirements.
Both 3D scanners feature the same accuracy and they have been fitted with a new light carbon structure.
