Coursera MOOC on the Go

Take your online courses from wherever

Taking an online course just got more convenient thanks to Coursera’s iPhone app. Don’t worry if you have an Android.  That app is in the works and will be available soon.

The Coursera app creates an environment where students can stream lectures and take quizzes on the go. Content can even be downloaded on the mobile device ahead of time so you can use it in areas without an internet connection.

The app also gives users the ability to browse, search, enroll, and even unenlist from a course at the flip of a finger.

For those taking notes, video content can be sped up or slowed down to better understand those longwinded or fast talking lecturers, respectively. If only that could be done in real life…

The app allows access to all 500+ courses in over 20 subjects from over 100 Universities and institutions in the US and around the world.  Courses are currently offered in 12 languages including English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Russian.

I think this might give me something else to do on the bike at the gym instead of staring at the mirror as I peddle.
