Add a 3D printer to an engineer’s workbench, and what do you have? You have the latest product introduction from 3D Platform (3DP).
“The Workbench Series is more than just another 3D printer, it has been designed through a professional user-experience process—with input from engineers, product developers and top creative talent around the world—incorporating tools they need to take our platform to the next level. The result is a comprehensive tool kit that increases capacity, enables them to expand their capabilities and bring their ideas to life,” said John Good, Vice President of Sales & Marketing with 3DP.
The Workbench Series comes standard with the large build area of 1 m x 1 m x 0.5 m, and is built on industrial strength mechatronics designed to deliver precision prints down to a 70 micron layer resolution. Additionally, the Workbench adds versatility with unique production and organizational features including:
It will include the SurePrint servomotor recently introduced. This motor offers 85% more torque than previous motors used on 3D Platform printers. The integrated encoder delivers 20,000 counts for accuracy and quality. Overall, SurePrint technology decreased the average print time on these systems by 45%.
These 3D printers are big, but a unique 2-part configuration makes it easier to fit a Workbench through a single width door, down to a minimum of 24 in. (610 mm) wide.
Other features include sensors to detect filament flow, resume from Z function for paused prints, Android tablet for remote monitoring and control, and auto bed leveling.
The Workbench Series is scheduled for full release in 2016.
