Cloud-based CAM app simplifies machining

Machining Software Pvt. Ltd has launched OnCreate3D. It is the First Full Cloud CAM app. It runs in all major web browsers and it just takes 3 simple steps to start machining.

1. Simply import a CAD File and choose a project type such as Mill-2D or Mill-3D. Many file formats such as DXF / STL / IGES / STEP are supported.

2. Create Operations to cut the part. Mill 3D supports Pocket, Contour, Parallel, Radial, Pencil and many more operations. Mill 2D supports Pocket, Contour, Rest Area operations. Lathe supports Turning, Facing, Grooving and many more operations. Lathe will be introduced soon. You can simulate the operations to check for gouges, spikes, undercutting etc. We are thinking of introducing Nesting and laser/punch module as well in future.

3. Create NC File for all operations by providing basic information about the controller options or choosing from the already available list of 30+ controllers.

That’s it. You are ready to take NC File to your CNC Machine.

Let’s say we want to create a plastic injection molding die for making Gillette Proglide blades and a CAD model for the product is ready with us.

Sign-up or Sign-in to OnCreate3D, you will land on to your dashboard. Just click on create new project, select Mill3D as project type, click upload button and browse and select the CAD model. A new project is created and project space to create toolpath operations is displayed. Here a rough pocket, finish parallel and cleanup leftover toolpaths are shown as sample toolpaths. You can easily orient the CAD model, set up stock, set up WCS etc. User can use variety of toolpaths operations depending upon the requirements. Finally user can simulate toolpaths and download NC Files.

Pocket Toolpath to remove bulk of material.

Parallel Toolpath with very small stepover to create smooth surfaces.

Cleanup toolpath to take away material left by previous big tool.

User can go back to dashboard by clicking “OnCreate3D” logo any time to work on other projects or create new projects.

That’s it. If the user has project to complete, there is no need to search for CAM software, download it, learn to work with geometry, toolpaths, POSTs configuration, get the FREE software key for one month trial edition where NC files don’t have enough decimal digits required for production accuracies etc. OnCreate3D wants users to quickly and smoothly get to their most important job, that is, cut the part.

OnCreate3D is aims to provide 80% reduction in cost of owning a CAM Software. Small Job shops, hobby machinist and new learners can not afford to invest huge amount in desktop based one-time purchased CAM packages. Also desktop CAM softwares come with additional AMCs and upgrade costs that are not visible upfront, but pinch the users more, over the years. Licensing for most of the CAM softwares is also dongle based with yearly renewals adding the hassle and cost of maintenance. OnCreate3D eliminates these 3 important pain areas that are crucial for small players in this domain. With new deployment of latest software on monthly basis over portal, upgrade costs are eliminated. With pricing that doesn’t change, AMC costs are eliminated. And with pricing that is subscription based one-time payment costs are eliminated. The product is thus clearly aimed at CAM market segment that is very price sensitive; that does not need much of learning curve and that expects return on investment within first two projects they deliver.

An important feature that brings many stake holders together, is sharing of the project with multiple users. Machinist can invite operators to only READ and download NC File just to take it further for manufacturing. Machinists can invite designers with READ or WRITE permissions to let them know the problem areas in designs that are not allowing the accurate and quality manufacturing of the component. Vendors can create all operations, verify NC Files and share their projects with suppliers for ONLY machining it further to control costs, inventories etc.

So far 900+ users have signed up for OnCreate3D, and the number is growing steadily.

Although security and privacy of Data on cloud could be a concern for many users, we take all precautions to keep the data safe, secured and confidential. Although confidentiality of designs is a major concern, users and small scale companies are slowly getting comfortable with data on cloud, due to many other benefits such systems can offer. We encourage users to test the simplicity of app and judge it’s usefulness. Sign-up at www.OnCreate3D.com and get unlimited number of NC Files for first 2 projects entirely FREE.
