CGTech releases Vericut 9.6 for CNC simulation

Vericut 9.6 introduces two AI-driven tools that change how users interact with the software.

CGTech has released Vericut 9.6, the latest version of its CNC simulation, verification, and optimization software. The update includes new artificial intelligence features and several improvements aimed at streamlining machining workflows, supporting collaboration, and enhancing practical usability on the shop floor.

Smarter support with AI

Vericut 9.6 introduces two transformative AI-driven tools that redefine how users interact with the software:

  • Vericut Assistant (VA) – An integrated in-software guide that delivers instant, context-aware support. Whether users are looking for help with settings, simulation steps, or tool configurations, VA answers “How do I…” questions right within the interface — reducing training time and unlocking more value from Vericut’s robust features.
  • Vericut Intelligence (VI) – A web-based knowledge hub that provides 24/7 access to AI-powered insights across Vericut’s full suite — including Force, Composites, Optimizer, and more. From broad concepts like “What is Force?” to specific features like “X-Caliper,” VI offers a smart, searchable companion for all things Vericut.

Better communication and control

Vericut Reviewer, a free tool for reviewing NC programs, now includes support for AUTO-DIFF results. Updates to the user interface add HUD status displays and customizable hotkeys to streamline simulation review, sharing, and analysis across teams.

Key enhancements in Vericut 9.6

  • PMI data support: Display and document 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), including dimensions and annotations compliant with ISO 10303/STEP AP242 standards.
  • Turning upgrades: Define driven points more accurately and automatically qualify tools for faster, more precise lathe setups.
  • Streamlined optimization: A simplified Optimization Control window and default tool data make it easier to fine-tune feedrates and improve cutting performance with fewer clicks.
  • New interfaces: Extended support for Siemens Run MyVirtual Machine and Fanuc Robot T.P. language.
  • CAD/CAM updates: Expanded support in multiple interfaces, including NX auto-loading of stock, fixtures, and designs.
  • Additional improvements: New report templates, enhanced machine connectivity, solid model textures, and better tool import from MachiningCloud.
