You can get a comparative measurement, but it would not be a true reading of the surface resistance.
If you have a known plated part and a non-plated part or some other plating, then you can touch the side of the probes (don’t use the point because it may cut through the plating) to the part surface. This will give you an indication of whether a parts have measurably different resistance.
For flat surfaces, I have tied a string between the probes so I’m measuring a consistent distance apart.
