Automation Anywhere and Google Cloud Partner to Accelerate RPA Adoption for Businesses

Automation Anywhere’s RPA tools and services can now be deployed via Google Cloud.

Robotic processing automation (RPA) company Automation Anywhere announced this week that it’s collaborating with Google to bring its services onto the company’s Cloud platform. Automation 360 will now be available through Google Cloud, enabling companies to deploy RPA via cloud technology. Automation Anywhere will also be working with the tech giant to develop new AI- and RPA-powered services for Google Cloud’s product lineup. Along with this, the two companies will be codeveloping industry-specific services directed at supply chains, health care, telecommunications, retail and the public and finance sectors. According to Automation Anywhere, the multiyear partnership with Google comes at an opportune time as more companies are beginning to adopt RPA technology into their workflows.

“By partnering with Google Cloud, we can help organizations leverage intelligent automation capabilities at a massive, global scale, and dramatically decrease the amount of time that teams spend on their most common, repetitive business tasks,” said Automation Anywhere CEO and Cofounder Mihir Shukla. “Intelligent Automation can be an important asset in digital transformation, particularly as global enterprises adapt to a new reality of distributed work.

The Automation 360 platform is a rebranded version of the company’s original Enterprise A2019 product. The program allows companies to design and create AI-based robots capable of carrying out various repetitive manual tasks. To automate the process, these RPA bots work by observing employees then replicating their workflow. Some of these tasks can include copying records between business applications, or extracting information from forms, emails or other documents. The new updated platform also includes an enhanced pretrained IQ bot module that can efficiently process documents much quicker to reduce companies’ in-house AI training. Similarly, this allows operators to set up the program much faster.

The past year saw an increase in remote work solutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Automation Anywhere, it’s expecting half of all businesses to invest more in automation technologies with most using RPA via the cloud. The company says that Google Cloud will be the primary cloud provider for the Automation 360 platform, in turn making it Google Cloud’s preferred RPA partner. Automation Anywhere’s complete service portfolio will be accessible through the Google Cloud Marketplace, which can be easily deployed across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.

Google will also be integrating Automation 360’s RPA capabilities into its cloud tools and services such as Apigee, an application programming interface (API) management platform. Others include AppSheet, an app-developer platform that doesn’t require coding, and AI Platform, a data science and machine learning management system.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian has also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership as more businesses are exploring RPA tools and technologies.

“As businesses increasingly run in the cloud, RPA provides the means to streamline processes across both cloud-native applications and legacy, on-premises systems—ultimately helping employees spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time supporting business-critical projects,” said Kurian.

Automation 360 will be available on Google Cloud starting in May 2021.
