Autodesk sued over software activitation method

Jim Dalrymple of Loop Insight reports that Autodesk and 17 other software companies are sued by BetaNet for violating its patent covering software activation.

It applies to any program where a portion is downloaded, and then you enter registration-license information, which is merged into the rest of the program that is then downloaded.
