AMC Bridge Unveils Digitalization of Construction Drawings

Technology Demonstration

WALTHAM, MA, Nov 15, 2023 – Uneditable documents are a common challenge in construction workflows. To address this issue, AMC Bridge created a new Digitalization of Construction Drawings technology demonstration that showcases the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to enhance facility management and building replanning, pave the way for data digitalization, support proper drawing archiving and history tracing, and provide data recovery possibilities to maintain business continuity.

The construction document flow involves documents in formats that are hard to edit or modify, sometimes intentionally to preserve their legal integrity. At the same time, they may need to be augmented with extra information or bundled with other documents.

The introduced technology demonstration presents analysis and conversion of immutable documents in PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, or BMP formats into more flexible data formats, like DWG, without changing the original files. Notably, this transformation doesn’t compromise the original documents’ legal integrity. As a result, Digitalization of Construction Drawings opens new possibilities for productivity and document management in the construction industry.
